BCB stands by tsunami victims

The Bangladesh Cricket Board will donate 10,000 dollars to the Sri Lankan cricket board for the quake-tsunami victims.

BCB advisor and media committee chairman Reazuddin Al Mamun announced yesterday that to stand beside the thousands of distressed people of the South Asian country, the Board has decided to contribute the money from ticket sales during the Bangladesh-Zimbabwe series.

"Our neighbours Sri Lanka and India lost countless lives in the tragedy. But Sri Lanka was worst affected. So, the BCB has come forward in this hour of need. We will hand over the donation to Sri Lanka Cricket," said Mamun before the press conference of the Zimbabwe cricket team, which began with a minute's silence.
