Identify culprits of sensational cases
Babar tells police officials


State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar yesterday asked the concerned police officials to identify the real culprits of sensational cases through sincere and devoted investigation.

He said this while he was presiding over the 41st meeting of monitoring cell which has been formed for quick disposal of sensational cases. Eleven cases were included yesterday's meeting as sensational cases.

The meeting had detailed discussion on five sensational cases.

The cases are killings of Headmistress of Siddewshwari Girls' High School Sabera Begum and her daughter, Professor Mohammad Yunus of Rajshahi University, Senior Assistant Secretary of Planning Commission Ibrahim Kamal, domestic servant Bilkis Begum, and the killings of Rasheed, Jashem, and Nazma Begum at a procession in Malibagh crossing by shooting.

He also directed the police officers to arrest charge sheeted accused at any cost.

Babar also gave some guidelines to the investigating police officials for quick disposal of sensational cases.

Cabinet Secretary Dr Sadaat Husin, Home Secretary Omar Farooq, Establishment Secretary, Law Secretary, Additional Attorney General, Inspector General of Police, DIG and concerned officials attended the meeting.
