The biennial election of the club was held at its auditorium in the port city yesterday.

The newly elected office-bearers are AZM Haider (Suprabhat Bangladesh) - vice-president; Ezaz Yusufi (Purbokone) - joint-secretary; Shahidul Islam Bachchu (The Daily Star) - treasurer; Mamun Abdullah (Prothom Alo) - cultural secretary; and Mohsin Chowdhury (Janakantha) - sports secretary.

And the members are Asif Siraj (Azadi), Shamsul Haq Haideri (ntv) and Shahid Ul Alam (Khabar).

Ali Abbas, Dibakar Gosh and Sekander Hossain were also re-elected senior vice-president, library secretary and entertainment secretary unopposed.
