Most medicine shops in Netrakona have no licence


Over 1000 medicine shops are doing business without drug licence in Netrakona district, according to Drug Superintendent In-charge Akib Hossen.

He was talking to newsmen at the Netrakona Drug Association office.

He said there are about 1200 medicine shop in ten upazilas of the district, but only 240 have drug licences.

The government is incurring a huge amount of revenue due to this.

Akib Hossain said it is not possible for the Drug Control Department to inspect all the illegal shops because of shortage of manpower. He however said a drive will be launched soon to identify the uillagal shops.
