JCD, Shibir clash at DMC: 15 injured

At least 15 activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, and Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), student wing of Jamaat, were injured in a clash at a dormitory of Dhaka Medical College yesterday.

Of the injured, ten have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Of them, seven belonged to the JCD while the rest are ICS activists.

The JCD activists are Shakil, Sarowar, Towhid, Maruf, Tanjil, Sibly and Rashek and the ICS activists are Arif, Rashed and Shohel.

Sources said the clash erupted when a group of JCD men charged an ICS activist Arif for taking his girlfriend to his room at Fazley Rabbi Hall on January 1.

Tension was running high at all the dormitories after the clash.
