AL promises job for youths if voted to power

The Awami League would create employment opportunities for the youths, if voted to power, said AL Joint Secretary Obaidul Kader yesterday.Computer training institutes would also be set up in each upazila to boost the growth in information technology sector, he said at a programme marking the 57th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Dhaka University campus. If the AL comes to power again, one youth from each family would be given employment, the AL leader said. Chaired by BCL President Liaqat Sikder, the function was also addressed by Nazrul Islam Babu, Abdul Mannan, Abdur Rahman, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Enamul Haque Shamim, Ehsaque Ali Khan Panna, Bahadur Bepary, Ajoy Kor Khokon and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury. To mark the day, the BCL cut a cake and lit 57 candles at the Curzon Hall after midnight and hoisted national and party flags at its central office at 6.00am. The leaders and workers also placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban in the city. The Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)-backed BCL also celebrated the founding anniversary.
