New Year cheers and Tsunami agony

The devastating Tsunami has wrecked havoc in about seven countries. The whole world mourns the tragedy. Sweden and some other European countries cancelled their New Year celebrations and arranged prayers and other programmes to express solidarity with the victims. We here in Bangladesh have become "better Christian than the Pope" and are shamelessly aping the western culture. That has prompted the security agencies to take 'extra measures'.

It's good to see that the SAARC summit has been postponed and the government is sending aid to the Tsunami torn areas. But couldn't the educated aristocrats 'sacrifice' the 'exotic dance' parties and do something noble with that money?
