Crossfire deaths

Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman has written (DS Jan.02,'05) a well composed piece (requiem) which is his 'ode' to those gone in the crossfire of Rab. I don't have that much of depth of knowledge that I could dare counter his 'argument', and I could not compose another 'requiem'; nor could I sing any 'hymn' in praise of Rab or for the service of the dead. But I have something to say about it.

Yes, Sir, these reports do inspire in us---poor defenceless public-- a little ray of hope for a decent safe living, going to school or work in a jovial mood, attend a meeting or a soiree without fear, run a small shop or a business care-free and return home with the shopping safe & sound and sleep in peace with the family --- which we could not even the other day. 'Yes', we have a conviction now that if we really want to do away with something for the greater interest, we can do it and we are inspired that a brighter sun may rise one day on our own horizon that will show us the way to success.
