Lack of democratic practice
A Husnain Dhaka
As a citizen, I feel distressed that some British officials have rightly pointed out that the two major political parties lack democratic practices in the local political culture (DS Dec 22).It is time we shifted away from mindless blind support of these two parties. We are too conservative in our political approach, and should try out some new settings, in public interest--and not in the interest of the parties. The giant leaders of these parties made their contributions, and these are recorded in writing (the vagaries of writing history is a different issue). We citizens have become victims of the majority rule, and politics of charisma. How long will this trend continue?
