Elena on course for 3rd double

Elena Tcherniakova of Russia has reached the girls' singles semifinal and the doubles final in the 19th GrameenPhone International Junior Tennis Tournament yesterday.The 14-year-old Elena, who has already won double crowns in the BKSP and Rajshahi legs, beat girls' top-seed Chan Venise of Hong Kong 7-6, 6-2 in the quarterfinals at the Ramna Tennis Complex. Pairing with Hasanova Elina of Azerbaijan, Elena outplayed Shivika Burman (India) and Punchanok Khunpitak (Thailand) 6-3, 6-0 in the girls' doubles semifinal. Boys' top-seed Chang Huai-En of Taipei eliminated Oyama Tetta of Japan 6-2, 6-2 to move into the singles semifinal.
