Speakers at the rally expressed their great concern over the increasing trend of violence against women. They stressed the need for creating mass awareness to resist such repression.

The theme of the rally was 'Resist Repression Against Women' while its slogan was 'We Are United to Resist Violence against Women'.

Schoolteacher Bazlur Rahman presided over the rally while Agardari Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdur Rahman and Prof Abu Saleh were present as chief guest and special guest.

Among others, Sodes Executive Director Madhab Datta, Shibpur UP member Halima Khatun, Agardari UP member Anawara Khatun, Abdus Sabur, Sirajul Islam, Moulana Nazrul Islam, Gopal Chandra Ghoshal, marriage registrar Moulana Kazi Abdul Hamid, Toyeba Khatun. Abul Kalam Azad conducted the meeting.
