Cellphone sets worth Tk 79 lakh seized at ZIA

Customs officials seized 975 mobile phone sets worth about Tk 78.5 lakh from two passengers at Zia International Airport (ZIA) on January 20.Customs men on suspicion challenged Kabir Hossain and Samsul Alam Talukdar, passengers of flight EK-339 that landed at the ZIA from Malyasia when they came to receive their luggage from the conveyer belt. Following the two's admission of having cell-phone sets, customs officials opened their luggage and found 575 cell-phone sets from Hossain and 400 from Talukdar.
