Gayoom thanks Khaleda

President of the Maldives Maumoon Abdul Gayoom said that he was deeply touched by the message of condolences that Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had sent to him following the death and devastation caused by the tidal waves that had struck the Maldives."On behalf of the families of the bereaved and on behalf of the people of the Maldives and on my own behalf, I wish to express our sincere appreciation to you and the people of Bangladesh for your kind gesture of sympathy and solidarity at this time of national grief," Gayoom said in a return message to Khaleda.
