Becks wants to end here

England captain David Beckham has no intention of returning to the English Premiership and aims to finish his career at Real Madrid. "I want and I'm convinced that I will end my career at Real Madrid," the 29-year-old told sports daily Marca on Friday. His current deal runs to 2007. But he added: "In football you can never tell what's going to happen, but I still think that I've got a lot to give as a player and I would like to continue at one of the best clubs in the world - Real Madrid." He said he would stay in Spain as long Real Madrid wanted him. Beckham made a promising start after joining the nine-times European champions from Manchester United for 35 million euros in 2003. But he lost form as the club hit a poor patch which saw them finish last season empty-handed. But he insists that under new Brazilian coach Wanderley Luxemburgo, brought in at the beginning of the year, the club are confident they can catch league leaders Barcelona. "I'm very happy at the moment, the team is working much harder and I've still got a lot more to give." A spectacular long-range Beckham free-kick maintained Madrid's perfect league record in 2005 with a 2-1 win at bottom club Numancia on Sunday. But despite five league wins in a row, Real remain seven points behind Barcelona. Beckham said his private life -- invaded by newspaper allegations of sex flings last year -- was on firmer ground since his wife Victoria joined him in Madrid. "Things have calmed down a lot," he said. "I've still got a few problems from the paparazzi but apart from that there are no problems." "I've got a house and my sons are happy at school. My wife is here every day and that helps. We're going to have our third child in Madrid, so he can play for Spain or England."
