Although the rain brought relief after a humid day, dwellers of a vast part of the capital passed several hours in darkness due to power cut coinciding with the start of the shower at 10:50pm.

City's Hazaribagh, Rampura, Ulan, Motijheel, Arambagh, Shantinagar, old Dhaka and some other parts were in dark till filing of this report at 1:00am today.

Met office recorded 2mm rain in the capital when the gusty wind blew at 50 kilometre per hour at the maximum from the southwest.

Reports of gusty wind have also been received from Rajshahi, Faridpur, Pabna, Bogra, Kushtia and some other districts, said weathermen.
