Khairuzzaman Babu alias 'Tall' Babu, 37, former cultural secretary of Khulna City Jubo League, in his confessional statement to Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Huq said he learnt how to manufacture bombs while working for Freedom Party, before joining Jubo League in 1997.

In the statement made under Section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code yesterday noon, Babu said two outlaws named Hasan and Swadhin recruited him and former additional police super Mofazzel Hossain, who is also under detention now, planned and funded the bomb attack on Dip Azad.
