What brand of democracy?

I felt rather confused while reading Mr. M. Zamir's article of 12 Feb. captioned 'Iraq: election is just the beginning.' Midway into the article, Mr. Zamir has written "democracy as it is being practisedin Egypt, Syria, Jordan and the member countries of the GCC." I wonder whether it is a wish-list or a wishful list Mr. Zamir wants us to stow away in our brochure of small wonders. May I request him kindly to illuminate on the brand of democracy practised in his most favoured countries?
