PBCP cadre confesses to involvement

Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Janajuddho) armed cadre Iqbal Hossain Shadhin confessed to his involvement in the February 5 bomb attack in front of Khulna Press Club that injured and finally killed journalist Shaikh Belaluddin.Shadhin made the confessional statement before Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Huq under Section 164 of the CrPC one week ago, on February 20. But police have since been hiding the information for unknown reasons. In his confession, Shadhin said he and his associate Mirajul planted a bag containing the bomb in Belal's motorcycle parked on the press club premises. Hasan, a police informer turned outlaw, supplied the bomb, Shadhin said. Earlier, Goda Yunus, arrested on February 6 in Belal murder case, also confessed to his involvement in the attack under the same law and before the same court. Twelve people have so far been arrested in the case. They are Shadhin, Hasan, Mirajul, Goda Yunus, Tall Babu, Habi Shaikh, Khokon, Elias, Golam Rasul, Solaiman, Anwar Hossain and Delwar.
