'Ban religion based politics'

The leaders of Rajshahi University (RU) units of Chhatra League (BCL) and Samajtrantrik Chhatra Front (SCF) on Friday demanded immediate ban on politics based on religion. The demand came from two separate protest meetings held on the campus. BCL threatened a tougher oust-government agitation for non-fulfillment of demand. Its president Ibrahim Hossain presided over the meeting. While addressing, the BCL leaders termed the announcement of ban on Jama'atul Mujahideen, Bangladesh (JMB) and Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh (JMJB) as an eyewash to befool the people and donors. They also criticised the government for patronising the Islamic militant groups and fundamentalist forces like Bangla Bhai.
