10 injured as bomb goes off at urs


Ten persons including a woman named Halima Begum, 50, were injured in a bomb explosion early Wednesday at an urs mahfil in Parulia Narsinghapur village under Jinardi union of Palash upazila.

It could not be known who were responsible for the bomb attack.

The injured were admitted to Palash Upazila Health Complex, Narsingdi Sadar Hospital and different private clinics.

Police Super of Narsingdi Meer Rezaul Alam visited the spot on that night after getting information of the bomb explosion.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge of the Palash police station Mizanur Rahman however denied the incident of any bomb explosion.

The urs is held every year at the shrine of Jainab Bibi and her husband Dewan Sharif who founded the Parulia Three Dome mosque during the Mughal period.
