The weeklong Bangladesh Tourism Festival 2005 in Dhaka, organised by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Jubok Tourism Limited ends today. A major attraction is the pavilions representing the diverse culture and heritage of the different areas of Bangladesh. For instance, the Khulna divisional pavilion has been decorated with rare plants from the Sundarbans and replicas of Royal Bengal tigers and deer, among others. The Chittagong divisional pavilion boasted a replica of the Lamar hills in Bandarban, while the Sylhet divisional pavilion displayed different kinds of stones from Jaflong. On February 28, band artist Ayyub Bachchu's songs and tribal dances enthralled the audience. On March 1, artiste Farida Parveen and Nakul Kumar Biswas entertained the audience with their performance. Yesterday's treat of rice cakes and popular artist Mumtaz's live performance delighted everyone at the festival.
