Reshuffle in police admin


Sixteen superintendents of police (SP) were transferred yesterday and two same-ranking officials promoted to additional deputy inspector general (DIG) of police.

Besides, three police officials received current charges of additional DIG, according to decisions taken at a meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Sources said the officials who were promoted as additional DIG are: Deputy Commissioner (South) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Khan Sayeed Hasan and Special Branch (SB) SP Helal Uddin Badari.

Khan Sayeed has been made the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) training school in Dhaka while Badari the chief of the SB training school.

While Saiful Alam of Sylhet Armed Battalion has been posted to Sardah Police Academy, Hemayet Uddin of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) took charge of Noakhali Police Training School and Najibur Rahman has been made additional DIG at Tangail.

Jessore SP Shahidul Islam was transferred to DMP, Hafizur Rahman of CID to Jessore, Humayun Kabir of Rangamati to Bhola, Fazlur Rahman of CID to Laxmipur, Masud Miah of Rajshahi to CID, Mahmud of DMP to Rajshahi, Nazrul Islam of Natore to Saidpur, Asaduzzaman of Saidpur to Bogra Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Golam Kibria of Bogra APBn to Natore, Jahirul Islam, DC Traffic (North) to SB, Abdullah Al Mamun of Rapid Action Batallion (Rab) to KMP, Khaled Hossain of KMP to Netrakona, Fireoz Al Mujahid of US Mission to DMP, Mosleh Uddin, who was earlier transferred to KMP, was retained in the Rab, Kohinoor of Mymensingh to DMP and Omar Faruq of Netrokona to Mymensingh.
