Child burnt to death in Faridpur

A child has been burnt to death in a house and 15 shops were gutted elsewhere in Nagarkanda upazila.Sources said the fire in Kagdi Bazar originated yesterday afternoon from electric short circuit and burnt down 15 shops. In another fire, the house of Abed Sheikh in Baushkhali was burnt to ashes Thursday night. Abed's two-year-old son, Rafiqul Islam, suffered serious burns and died at Faridpur Medical College and Hospital Friday. The damage has been estimated at Tk 15 lakh.
