Memo to PSC chairman for cancellation of a BCS exam

Six opposition-backed student organisations yesterday submitted a memorandum to the Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman demanding immediate cancellation of the examination of General Mathematics and Everyday Science paper of the 25th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam.

The organisations brought out a procession to lay siege to the PSC, but police stopped the procession in front of the Institute of Fine Arts where they held a rally.

The combine leaders at the rally demanded resignation of the PSC chairman for repeated leakage of BCS question papers during her tenure.

Later, an eight-member delegation led by BCL Vice-presidents Baloram Poddar and Rifiqul Islam Katowal submitted the memorandum to PSC Chairman Prof ZN Tahmida Begum.

The combine will enforce a strike at Dhaka University today to press home their three-point demand, including release of its leaders Abu Abbas Bhuiyan and Mizanur Rahman Mizan, and punishment to the culprits responsible for the TSC bomb blasts.
