The lure of magic is universal. The enchanting and awe-inspiring qualities of magic cut across age and education barriers. The Magicians' Society of Bangladesh (MSB) brings good tidings to magic lovers: the first ever magic festival to be held between March 10-12. The three-day grand event will take place at three venues--the Mirpur Indoor Stadium, Osmani Memorial Auditorium and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Internationally acclaimed magicians from eight countries--India, China, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Spain, United States of America and Bangladesh--will perform shows in this festival, asserts magician Ali Raj, general secretary of MSB. Showcasing performances by magicians such as PC Sarcar Jr from India, Juan Mayoral from Spain, Tuxedo from Thailand, Franz Harry and Dave Womach from USA, the festival also features Bangladeshi magicians Jewel Aich, Ali Raj, Ulfat Kabir, Mainul Khan, George the Cruise, Shafiullah Sikder and others. Besides the gala shows, the event will conduct workshops, lectures, demonstrations, magic bazaar and video shows for the magicians and general audience.. So, now it is time for the Bangladeshi audience to witness astonishing tricks such as the 'vanishing' of a truck or a helicopter from the stage! The tickets will range from Tk. 300 to Tk. 1000.
