SEC chief for improving corporate governance

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Mirza Azizul Islam yesterday underscored the need for improving corporate governance, saying lack of corporate governance is responsible for turmoil in share markets.He said this while delivering speech at the concluding ceremony of a daylong workshop in Dhaka. Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) organised the workshop titled 'Listing Requirements' for company secretaries. Speaking at the function, Samson H Chowdhury, president of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies, urged the SEC to fix a certain figure of dividend for all companies.
