Cheating case against BMA leaders


A cheating case against president and secretary general of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and 41 other doctors was filed with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, Dhaka yesterday.

The accused are president Dr MA Hadi, Secretary Dr AZM Zahid Hossain and its 41 members.

Publicity Secretary of Bangladesh Democratic Party (BDP) Mohammad Mohisin Kabir of 35/9 Shantinagaor, Motijheel filed the case.

After hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Emdadul Haq took the case into cognizance and directed the officer-in charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station to take necessary steps against the accused on an investigation.

In his petition, Kabir mentioned that the accused made a forged registration certificate for forming the Association using signature and seal of the Directorate of Social Welfare on January 3, 1963 though there was no existence of BMA before June 3, 2003 and they misappropriated crores of money from the public fund in the name of the BMA.
