Fight with tiger

A fisherman on Monday fought a Royal Bengal Tiger in deep forest in the Sundarbans and survived.

Critically injured in the head, chest and hands, Abdul Hamid, 46, is now being treated at Shyamnagar hospital.

Hamid, son of Erfan Ullah of khalishabunia village in Shyamnagar upazila, along with three others went to Latabaria canal in the Sundarbans to catch fish.

All of a sudden, a Royal Bengal Tiger swooped on him. His companions kept away as he fought with the tiger for about 15 minutes.

At one stage, he jumped into the canal and the tiger left. His companions then rescued him.
