Ferdous Ara first woman DG of BTV

Ferdous Ara Begum became the first woman to make it to the post of Director General of the state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV). She joined her new office yesterday. Ferdous Ara was promoted to Additional Secretary in October last year and attached to the Ministry of Establishment for her next posting. Prior to her elevation, she had been Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs since April 2002.
