The strategy paper was approved after a detailed discussion at a meeting of the Local Government Division at its conference room.

LGRD and Cooperatives Secretary HM Abul Kashem presided.

LGRD & Cooperatives minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, State Minister Ziaul Haq Zia, former secretary AYBI Siddique, the director general of the Local Government Division, chief engineer of the LGED were present.

Mannan Bhuiyan said that the rural areas made a rapid progress than urban areas in terms of sanitation.

He called upon the authorities concerned to remove the hanging toilets on both sides of different roads and highways as well as Dhaka City Corporation areas.
