Earlier on Saturday, several hundred students under the banner of 'Shadharan Chhatra Chatri Parishad ' (general students association) submitted a memorandum to the VC containing the demands.

The demands include modernisation of RUET medical centre, construction of new dormitories and a Shaheed Minar on the campus, adequate books in library and transport facility for students residing outside the campus.

Addressing the students at the gathering, their leaders said a tougher agitation will be launched if steps are not taken in 10 days to meet the demands.
