US assistant secy condoles deaths of garment workers
Christina Rocca, US assistant secretary of state for South Asia, yesterday expressed condolences over the deaths of garment workers in Monday's building collapse at Savar, says a release of the US Embassy.

She telephoned Foreign Minister Morshed Khan to convey her sympathy to the government and the families of the victims.

She also hoped that the survivors trapped under the rubble would be rescued.
