Writ Against CJ
HC decides today about admissibility

The High Court (HC) will pass an order today on the admissibility of a writ petition alleging breach of oath of office by Chief Justice Syed J R Mudassir Husain.

A bench comprising justices Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman and Moinul Islam Chowdhury after hearing the petitioner observed that an order would be passed on Sunday after hearing the attorney general.

Abdus Salam Mamun, who had to quit the High Court bench in February as his job as an additional judge was not confirmed, had filed the writ. He alleged that the chief justice had promised to confirm him after six months' extension. But he did not keep his promise.

He further alleged that he was deprived of official accommodation and transport facilities when he was an additional judge.
