Scolari prefers club over country
AFP, Lisbon
Portugal's Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said Saturday he would like to remain in Europe for five more years as a football coach. "My goal, as well of those around me, is to stay in Europe for five more years. In a club or national team," Scolari told the Jornal de Noticias newspaper. "I have been offered a job training a national side after the 2006 World Cup," he said without giving details. "But I'd prefer to coach a club." Scolari, who led Brazil to the 2002 World Cup title, is under contract with the Portuguese Football Federation until the 2006 World Cup. Portugal lead European Group 3 on 14 points, level with Slovakia who have an inferior goal difference and three ahead of Russia.
