US Admiral Fallon in city

Commander of United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) Admiral William J Fallon along with his spouse arrived in the city yesterday on a two-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh.On his arrival at Kurmitola BAF Tarmac by a US military aircraft, Admiral Fallon was received by Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury. During his visit, Admiral Fallon is expected to meet Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan, Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Kamal Uddin Suddiqui and Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Major General Mustafa Reza Noor. The US admiral will place wreaths at the 'Shikha Anirban' (The Eternal Flame) to pay homage to the members of the Armed Forces martyred during the Liberation War in 1971. He will also visit the National Defence College (NDC) at Mirpur Cantonment in Dhaka.
