Who is containing corruption?

The BNP government as per its commitment formed the independent Anti Corruption Commission headed by a retired justice in the year 2004. But it seems to be nowhere now, rather the staff members of the former anti- corruption bureau are left without work. Under the circumstances, the corrupt officials either in the government, semi-government or NGOs are having a freehand, as there is no more fear or hesitation in resorting to foul and corrupt practices.

Nowadays what we observe in almost all the offices cited above is corruption and corruption. The honest officers cannot work. The education sector was the only sector where there was less corruption but now the sector can be termed the pivot of malpractice. Even at the primary level , appointment of teachers is made against a fixed amount of money, and genuine candidates do not get appointment. All these can be detected if there is a high powered team to do the job of investigation. Crores of public money are being wasted and misappropriated in different sectors.

May we therefore propose to the Honorable Prime Minister to kindly appoint one high powered team to be constituted with honest people as determined by a common choice of all parties. If such a vigilance team is formed, there is no doubt that those corrupt persons would be in trouble.

Furthermore, the corrupt businessmen who have been making their fortunes by deceiving and cheating the Revenue Board would also come under vigilance.
