Amir Sikder new envoy to Russia

The government has decided to appoint M Amir Hussain Sikder, currently Bangladesh High Commissioner to South Africa, as ambassador to the Russian Federation.A career diplomat, Sikder had served in Bangladesh Missions in Manila, Islamabad, Bangkok and New Delhi as well as in the ministry in various capacities. He has been serving as the Bangladesh High Commissioner to South Africa since August 2002, said an official release yesterday.
