Nasir greets Mohiuddin

Taking his poll defeat with good grace, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin has congratulated ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury on his reelection as mayor of the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).Nasir, who was the main challenger of Mohiuddin in the May 9 mayoral election, in a statement yesterday said he hoped the role of the mayor would continue uninterrupted for the welfare and development of the people of Chittagong. Mohiuddin Chowdhury won the CCC election for a third consecutive term, defeating the ruling coalition-backed candidate, Mir Nasiruddin, by 91,481 votes.
