Hunger strike today for justice

Leaders and workers of the 'Blue for Peace' programme initiated by Asma Kibria, wife of the slain former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria, will observe a token hunger strike today at Chasarahat Central Shaheed Minar in the city, demanding punishment of the real culprits behind Kibria's killing.Asma Kibria and her family, as well as lawyers, cultural activists, intellectuals, professionals and political leaders, will join the hunger strike from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Kibria was killed in a Habiganj grenade attack on January 27. "We have organised the programme to press our demands, including a proper judgment in the Kibria murder case and punishment of the real culprits," said advocate Masud-ur-Rauf, member secretary of Narayanganj District Committee of Sammilito Ainjibi Samonnay Parishad.
