British HC launches "Student Express" visa service

The British High Commission has launched a new fast track "Student Express" visa service for students wishing to study in the United Kingdom.

This new initiative is part of the British High Commission's efforts to improve customer service and reduce waiting times for genuine students, says a High Commission release yesterday.

In order to qualify for "Student Express", a student will have to use the placement service offered by the British Council called Professional Advisory Service for Students (PASS) before submitting their applications to one of their UK visa application centres in Dhaka or Sylhet.

This comprehensive service will advise students or parents on a course that meets their needs, help in the completion of application forms and check relevant documentation for entry into the fast track visa service "Student Express".

Another major advantage for genuine students is that they can start the PASS process in advance of receiving their local exam results and be cleared for "Student Express" on condition of receiving the required results at a later date.

All genuine students, who are serious about meeting their course start dates for this academic year, must apply as early as possible. "Do not leave your visa applications until late August," the High Commission advised the students.
