Album launch
Protik follows the footsteps of his father Milu

The album release of Bhalobasha Chai by Protik Hassan, son of late Khalid Hassan Milu, was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on May 11.

The star-studded programme was compered by actress Shirin Bakul and the album cover was formally unveiled by popular host Hanif Shanket. Eminent and popular singers, lyricists and music composers including Subir Nandi, Aiyub Bachchu, Kumar Biswajit, Andrew Kishore, Asif Akbar, Kabir Bakul, Protik Hassan-the singer himself and his mother Fatima Hassan spoke on the occasion. The artistes conveyed their best wishes for the upcoming artiste.

Veteran vocalist Subir Nandi said, " It is encouraging for us that Milu's son has taken music as a profession. It feels like my own son is starting his career as a singer."

Ayub Bachchu said, "Protik should not be concerned about his career as he seems to have the appropriate skills. I hope he can face the current music scene boldly."

Andrew Kishore, echoing the same view, said, "Artistes who have chosen music as a profession often undergo hardship. Protik is likely to be an exception because he has the patronage of Hanif Shangket and recording company Sangeeta. However, Protik must be a committed musician."

Hanif Shangket said, "The recent flux of obnoxious songs should be stopped. And promising singers like Protik must be encouraged and supported by all."

The album Bhalobasha Chai, consists of 11 melodious songs with mostly romantic lyrics. Some of the songs were originally rendered by Khalid Hassan Milu. But the tune of the song Rubi composed by Ali Akbar Rupu, is influenced by the popular song More than I can say by Leo Sayer. The lyricists of the album are Liton Adhikari Rintu, Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, Kabir Bakul, Milton Khondokar, Rafiquzzaman and Gazi Mazharul Anwar while Ali Akbar Rupu, Anwar Parvez and Rajesh composed the songs. The album is dedicated to Khalid Hassan Milu.
