Dr M Balamuralikrishna to receive the Knight Award
The king of Carnatic classsical music, Padmavibhushan Dr M Balamuralikrishna has been awarded the Chevalier des Arts et Letters (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the Government of France, says a press release.Dr Balamuralikrishna came to Dhaka in July 2003 to inaugurate the first Carnatic classical musical centre, Sarva Sree Foundation, and performed the first Carnatic classical concert in the country--which won plaudits from the audience.
