Another body floats on Jamuna

The body of an unidentified woman was found floating in the Jamuna river yesterday while the authorities abandoned the salvage operation for the sunken launch M V Raipura on Sunday with some 120 passengers still missing and feared trapped inside the vessel. Local people buried her at a nearby graveyard. Locals and relatives of the missing resented that the authorities did not even keep the police control room at the accident site at Aricha to collect and identify or bury the floating bodies. Abdur Rahim, a trader, said, "We think more bodies will be found floating in the river." No government agency was found working there. Meanwhile, the Trader Welfare Association of Aricha yesterday observed a mourning day yesterday and held Milad Mahfil for the victims.
