Nejmeh in city for AFC Cup match

Nejmeh FC arrived in Dhaka yesterday morning to play their last group match in the AFC Cup against Bangladesh giants Brothers Union. Tomorrow's Group C match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium has only an academic interest for both sides. The Lebanese league champions have won their all three previous encounters to make the second round as the first team while Brothers, who lost their away game to Nejmeh 4-1, have been eliminated from the race. But the tourists were not ready to take the match lightly although they have come here without four key players. "Yes, there is no effect of this match on the outcome of the group but we are determined to ensure hundred percent winning record," said Fadiahmad Al Yamani, head coach of the team, during a practice session in the afternoon at the Bangabandhu Stadium. Former Bangladesh coach Otto Pfister was the main coach of Nejmeh but the German quit the job following the recent spat of bloodshed in the Middle Eastern nation. "We have to win one more match and draw the other in our remaining two league encounters to retain our title that's why the victory here will be nice for us," added Yamani. Despite missing four frontline players, he was confident to score another comfortable win against the Bangladeshi side as they have four national players and two Ghanaians -- Duah and Addo -- in the squad.
