Comilla emerge zonal champs

Comilla clinched the Zone A championship in the City Bank National Youth Volleyball qualifiers yesterday defeating Tangail 3-1 in the final at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. Earlier, Comilla eliminated Faridpur in straight sets in the semifinals while Tangail also won their last four game against Sherpur by the same margin. Comilla, Tangail and Sherpur, who beat Faridpur in the third-place play-off, all qualified for the final rounds. Meanwhile, the other two zonal qualifiers began in Khulna and Dinajpur. The top three teams from each zone will join hosts Rajshahi in the ten-team finals.
