AL, BNP leaders visit injured auto-rickshaw driver at DMCH


Leaders of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and opposition Awami League yesterday visited the injured CNG auto-rickshaw driver Amir at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

He is being treated for burn injuries he suffered during hartal hours on May 21.

Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas, f Dhaka City Corporation Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka and Political Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition Saber Hossain Chowdhury visited Amir, 40, at the hospital's Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.

The leaders talked with his family members and consoled his two school-going girls Onia, 13, and Rima, 10.

They also talked to the doctors and asked them to ensure the best available treatment for Amir.

They also donated some money to his family for his treatment.

Amir, driver of a CNG three-wheeler, received severe burn injury when three men set fire to his vehicle during hartal hours on Saturday near Tilpapara mosque at Khilgaon in the city.
