15 AL men sent to jail custody in C'nawabganj

A speedy trial tribunal yesterday rejected the bail prayer of 15 Awami League leaders and activists and sent them to jail custody in a case regarding the removal of the prime minister's photo from Chapainawabganj Circuit House. After a cross-examination of the witnesses, the tribunal sent them to jail custody. The verdict of the case will be given on May 25. BNP leaders filed the case, accusing the AL leaders and activists of removing the photo of the prime minister when Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina was holding talks with local AL leaders and workers at the circuit house on June 6, 2003.
