Ex-BCB boss Manzar passes away


Former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) general secretary Neyamtullah Taher Manzar died on Monday at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The sports organiser, who served the Board in 1991, was 54. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at the Mohammadpur Jame Masjid after the Johr prayers and he was buried at the Azimpur Graveyard yesterday.

Manzar's qulkhwani will be held at his Tajmahal Road residence today after the Asr prayers.

Meanwhile, BCB president Ali Asghar, former BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Sammilito Krira Paribar, Abahani, Lalmatia Club and Bangladesh Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association expressed their shock at the death of Manzar.
