Speakers at a rally have expressed their resentment over the complication created by the establishment ministry for 534 posts of BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) Agriculture Cadre upgraded in 2001. They said as a result of the complication, more than two hundred entry-level officers of the cadre will be deprived of promotion to senior scale. The rally was organised by the members of BCS Agriculture Cadre at Khamarbari in the city on Monday. They said the officers will also be deprived of the selection grade as provided in the sixth grade of the new pay scale. A 51-member BCS (Agriculture) Cadre Sangram Parishad was formed to continue their movement. Presided over by former secretary general Agriculturist Salekur Rahman Masum, the rally was also addressed by agriculturists Dr Shahidul Islam, Nazmul Huq Litu, Arif Hossain, Jahidul Amin Dewan Hossain Ahmed, S Tasaddek Ahmed and Abu Yusuf.
