All elections to be free, fair under new CEC
Hopes President

President Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday hoped that all the elections, including the next general election, would be free, fair and impartial under the Election Commission led by Justice MA Aziz.

The president expressed the hope when the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Justice MA Aziz, called on him at Bangabhaban.

Welcoming the CEC, the president assured him of all-out cooperation in discharging the constitutional duties vested in the Election Commission.

In reply, the CEC said he is committed to hold free, fair and impartial elections in the country. He also sought cooperation from the president in performing his duties as per constitution and law.
